Feline Care 101 with Veterinarian Andrea Tasi
It’s only been within the last 20 years that the veterinary community and the pet industry recognized that the cat should not be cared for like a small dog, but as a completely different species, one descended from an African wild cat. Even now after re-evaluating and modifying diets and health regimens, feline specialists are raising concerns that poor commercial diets, over-vaccination, and environmental hazards are degrading the health of our felines.
Discover your cats' instinctual and health care needs, and learn the latest diet guidelines, behavioral insights, holistic care recommendations, and vaccine protocols in a three-part series. PetSage and holistic veterinarian Andrea Tasi, founder of Just Cats Naturally, a feline-only holistic practice in Virginia, will host this in-depth natural pet care series.
Session I: Feline Behavior and Environmental Enrichment will demonstrate the importance of exercise and playtime, review litter box issues, provide tips to prevent house-soiling, and discuss cat hierarchies and social interactions.
Saturday, January 26th, 2:30 p.m.
Session II: Nutritional Needs and the Feline Diet will discuss the carnivore diet and show how many commercial foods do not meet optimal nutritional requirements. Issues under scrutiny will be how dry foods compare to the benefits of canned, home-prepared, and raw foods. Examples of raw and home-prepared diets will be available.
Saturday, February 23rd, 2:30 p.m.
Session III: A Holistic Perspective on Health Care will discuss the concepts of wellness, putting together a health care team, how holistic therapies integrate with conventional medical care, and the benefits and risks of vaccines. It will also offer integrative health care tips for chronic illnesses, such as kidney disease, urinary disorders, and arthritis.
Saturday, March 22nd, 2:30 pm
Fee is $40 per session, $90 for all three sessions with pre-registration. Click Here to Register Online
